A task that often is put in the too hard basket by owners in hospitality. Thankfully this concept is embraced wholeheartedly by Maureen and Kunal Chandawani, owners of Vic Parks popular Bespoke Café.
Up to 15 hardworking, professional, and happy staff are constantly prepared and willing to create an environment in which satisfaction and contentment are key for their ever-growing band of loyal customers. Amazing coffees, compliments of Dukes Coffee Roasters and great food options are just a portion of what is offered by these astute business owners.
For they have also established Barista HQ, a leading barista training academy.
This facility focuses on trainees not only achieving proficiency as barista’s, but on completion of their course they leave job-ready, comfortable with their skills, and busting with confidence if an employment opportunity immediately arises.
However there has always been a common weakness for new graduates. If there is a lengthy time gap between completion of a course and a job interview many lose confidence. Maureen has acknowledged this fact and, in an attempt, to do more she offers mobile training and wait for it, she even offers an innovative service in that one can hire machines on site for self-practice as long and often one feels the need to hone their barista skills.
Like many businesses the road to reaching the pinnacle of success often requires great sacrifices, hard work and this couple show that by having passion and vision, anything is possible… who would have thought the roots leading to the creation of one of WA’s most innovative barista training academies can be traced back Maureen’s and Kunal’s small garage many years ago.
