What many may have considered to be the best precincts only a few short years ago have now in many cases become old, tired, and unattractive relics while the popularity of other areas has bought new and exciting life back to many forgotten suburban areas.
Those featuring great businesses have understanding landlords ably supported by pro-active local governments who relate to the needs of small business often see the best results.
Look at Victoria Park which for years faced the doldrums exacerbated by major road works which almost spelt its death knell but now thanks to amazing and diverse operators is seeing a great resurgence in popularity.
Whatley Cres precinct in Maylands is going gangbusters but could go south quickly if proposed road closures leading to a mall ever sees the light of day.
Leederville the once darling of hospitality precincts has seen a few tough years but hopefully if council and business owners can work together this great location may once again reach its former glory.
Mt Hawthorn is a hidden secret as this area thanks to some amazing cafes and local shops has its popularity gathering pace and then there is Mt Lawley stung badly in recent years but there is a new buzz in the air, if only the roadworks will someday finish.
Fremantle in many respects is a sad story as this once mighty area has seen better days although never underestimate this iconic location resolve in coming back to life. South Tce, South Fremantle on the other hand is trending nicely with hospitality businesses showcasing the best of what Fremantle once had.
