Didn’t think that was possible, well not everyone is like Charlie Austen, owner of Charlies Coffee Bar in Hilton, WA. In fact, the success of his business would make any band proud if they too had a large, loyal, dedicated and wait for it, satisfied following.
This amazing people person/come family man for years was drummer in a successful punk rock band yet between gigs he began to find a love for coffee when based in Melbourne. Fast forward 20 years and bingo this man with such a gentle soul has nailed perfection not only for the coffee and light meals he and his staff produce every day of the week but for the connection he has made with the community. Importantly his vision has not stopped there for in the near-term Charlie will be adding to his outdoor area where sundowners will be the order of the day with local musos performing.
For years prior to stumbling across a derelict site and creating the ideal destination for coffee lovers, Charlie’s apprenticeship included developing amazing barista capabilities together with understanding the specialized coffee roasting aspect of the industry. The result and beauty of this education has allowed his own special blend in being offered to his ever-growing array of customers, satisfying both milk and black coffee tastes.
Charlie loves leading his team of like-minded staff and together they constantly endeavour to create circumstances that allow customers to walk away with contented smiles on their faces. Charlies is pet friendly, vegan friendly, kid friendly, and friendly to all music lovers, including obviously punk rockers…
