To own and operate a successful café or coffee shop can be a rewarding and life changing period in one’s life, but truth be known, the opposite can be the reality for so many others. Sure, as the heading suggests, the undertaking of owning and operating a hospitality business is never easy and can be daunting, but as can be seen far and wide across the country, there are those café or coffee shops which excel and seem to have endless lines of customers stretching well outside their doors.
This phenomenon of success never eventuates by chance. Often years of planning, due diligence and an owner’s unrelenting vision combined with unrivalled passion is required. But this is only the beginning, for if one visits successful establishments, great ambience, quality food and service, amazing cleanliness , the obvious but often glossed over great coffee and the obligatory smiles, smiles and more smiles amongst so many other factors must be a given.
One often asks why I published the book ‘Owning a Café or Coffee Shop’. The reasons are endless, but one factor always rises close to the top. So many good, kind, and hardworking family people enter the hospitality industry only to end up broken, demoralised and often scarred for eternity, together with so many other wide-ranging variables. The book is designed for everyone in the industry and I hope its messages and advice can put so many on or back on the path toward success, both financially and personally.
Throughout the world so many are facing tough times because of covid19. For all that still wish and dare to dream, hold on to those thoughts and have belief that sometime soon for those who are prepared to create a business that stands out amongst their peers, success will follow.
